Even as monsoon announces its arrival in the southern reaches of the country, heat wave continues to grip India. Chandrapur in Vidarbha registered a season high of 47.3 degree celcius. <br/><br/>The National Capital recorded a maximum of 45.4 degree celcius, an eight year high for the month of May. <br/><br/>There is no respite from the heat wave for the region with the mercury expected to hover around 43 degrees in the next 24 hours. <br/> <br/>Mercury is posting new records as it reaches 47.3 degree celcius in Chandrapur in the Vidarbha region, while Wardha simmered at 47.1 degrees. <br/><br/>In the north, Delhi registered an eight year high for the month of May at 45.4 degrees. <br/><br/>Churu in Rajasthan recorded a searing high of 46.6 degree celcius while the pink city, Jaipur simmered at 44.8 degrees. <br/><br/>In Punjab and Haryana, Hissar again registered the highest temperature as mercury rose to 46.1 degrees while Ludhiana felt the heat at 42 degree celcius. <br/><br/>In Himachal Pradesh, however, temperatures dipped due to strong winds and mild showers as Una witnessed a high of 38.2 degrees. <br/><br/>With monsoon already at the doors, and the met department predicting a good monsoon, one just hopes that raingods don’t fail the weathermen this year. <br/><br/>
