The severe heat wave conditions continue to prevail in various districts of Vidarbha region of Mharashtra with the mercury soaring to a new high during the on-going summer which was hovering around 44 degrees Celsius for the last few days. Nagpur city recorded maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius registering the highest maximum temperature of the current summer season today. Chandrapur and Wardha with 46 degrees Celsius were other hot spots while Brahmapuri registered the highest temperature of 46.3 degrees Celsius in the region for the day. Similar conditions are expected to continue in the region for the next couple of days, as per the information received from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Nagpur. The people in this region are having a harrowing time with the scorching heat coupled with the scarcity of water and load shedding. The Government hospitals in each of these districts have been geared up to meet the challenges emerging from the heat wave conditions including sun strokes and other heat-related ailments.
