The severe heat wave conditions have aggravated further in Vidarbha districts with the mercury soaring to a new high during the on-going summer which was hovering over 46 degrees Celsius for the last few days. Nagpur city recorded the highest maximum temperature of 47.3 degrees Celsius a new high for the current summer season today. <br/><br/>While Brahmapuri recorded the highest temperature in the region today, Wardha with 47.5 and Chandrapur with 47.2 degrees Celsius were the other hot spots registering peaks of the season. Similar conditions are expected to continue in the region for the next couple of days, as per the information received from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Nagpur. <br/><br/>The people in this region are having a harrowing time with the scorching heat coupled with the scarcity of water and incremental load shedding. <br/><br/>The Government hospitals in each of these districts have been geared up to meet the challenges emerging from the heat wave conditions including sun strokes and other related ailments. <br/><br/>Nagpur city had recorded a season high of 47.4 degrees Celsius on 2nd of May last year. Earlier, the highest maximum temperature of 47 degrees Celsius was registered on May 7, 2001 and May 18, 2003 in Nagpur and the highest maximum temperature recorded the in the history of the city was 47.8 degrees Celsius on May 26, 1954.
