Heat wave conditions ease in northwest India

Heat wave conditions have abated from northwest India. However, there is no respite from the searing heat for Vidarbha and Telengana regions. According to the Met Department, the highest maximum temperature of 46.1 degree celcius was recorded at Nagpur in Maharashtra. <br/> <br/>In the upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley, unseasonal snow and rainfall claimed two lives. Northern plains did not witness much rise in temperature as mercury hovered around the 40 degree mark. <br/> <br/>Hissar in Haryana was the hottest at a high of 44.5 degree celcius. In Patiala, the mercury did not rise beyond 41.2 degrees, while Una in Himachal Pradesh registered a high of 39 degree celcius. <br/> <br/>In Delhi, the mercury settled at two degrees below normal to register a high of 39.2 degrees. According to the Met Department, conditions are favourable for onset of southwest monsoon over Kerala during next 48 hours.<br/>
