Heat conditions continue unabated in the northern plains. The mercury soared to 44.1 degree Celsius in the national capital on Tuesday. In Uttar Pradesh, intense heat wave has affected normal life as the temperature has gone up to 4 degrees above normal. AIR correspondent reports Agra remained hottest place in the state where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.5 degrees Celsius.Six persons have succumbed to intense heat in Siddhartha Nagar and Mahrajganj districts. Jhansi remained the hottest place recording over 47 degrees. AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that the demand for electricity has also increased. The heat wave also swept the twin states of Punjab and Haryana as mercury further increased at many places with Hisar sizzling at 45.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. AIR Jaipur correspondent reports that normal life is being affected in Rajasthan due to severe heat.Meanwhile in Himachal Pradesh, a sudden thunderstorm followed by rains and hails lashed Shimla and its surrounding areas on Tuesday evening, bringing down the temperature. In Madhya Pradesh, normal life has been hit badly due to heat wave conditions in most parts of the state. AIR Bhopal correspondent reports that Khajuraho with 47 degrees Celsius remained the hottest spot during the last 24 hours.
