Hearing of Mumbai terror accused Headley postponed

The hearing of David Coleman Headley, charged with conspiracy in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, has been postponed till 23rd of February by the US District Court of Illinois.Spokesman for US Attorney's office Randall Samborn told reporters today, the hearing has been postponed by agreement of both the defence and the prosecution. <br/><br/>Headley has been charged with conspiring in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people. The FBI chargesheet against him also alleges that he made several trips to India prior to the attacks to scout for terror targets and then shared information with conspirators in Pakistan. <br/><br/>After his arrest in October last year, Headley had first appeared in the court on December 9 when he was arraigned and he had pleaded not guilty to charges that he plotted terror attacks against India and Denmark.Headley's presence has been waived by the defence, which means he need not be present for court hearings in the future.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports,Indian intelligence agencies are yet to get a green signal from the US authorities for his quizzing. Sources in New Delhi said the request for the same is still pending.
