Health & Wellness Centres will be foundation for India's Healthcare: NITIA Aayog Member Dr V K Paul

Member (Health) in the NITI Aayog Dr V K Paul has said that Budget 2018 is a turning point for health sector as it has given special focus to health and the vision for New India. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi today, Dr Paul said, Health and Wellness Centres will be the foundation for India's Healthcare and Government envisions these centres as the first point of medical assistance and the best medical infrastructure within the common citizens' reach.<br/><br/>Director (Health) in the think tank Dr Dinesh Arora said, Ayushman Bharat provides flexibility to states to either adopt insurance company model as in Rajasthan or trust model as practised in Karnataka. <br/><br/>He said, public hospitals will be benefited from the money reimbursed for procedures done.<br/><br/>NITI Aayog's Advisor (Health) Alok Kumar said, Ayushman Bharat will be fully government supported and there will be no cap on family size. He said, it is a nationally-portable scheme which can be utilised across the nation. <br/><br/>NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said, this Budget is the first budget in post-independent India which has brought social sector to the centre stage.
