Health, wellness and nutrition camp organised in New Delhi in the run up to the Women's Day

In the run up to the International Women's Day 2020 celebrations, Ministries of Health and Family Welfare and Women and Child Development are jointly organizing a health, wellness and nutrition camp in New Delhi. Activities such as screening for anaemia, blood sugar, hypertension and other health related issues will be conducted for women employees working in various Ministries during this week-long camp.<br />'' <br />''Speaking before inaugurating the camp, Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said, past two decades have witnessed significant reduction in maternal and infant mortality and government is focusing on bringing concrete measures to prevent deaths of both mother and infant. He said, under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme government, is aiming at creating around 1.5 lakh wellness centre across the nation to ensure better health facilities.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">In her address, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani said, over 6.14 crore women have visited wellness centres for different health issues and nearly 70 lakh women have got screened for cervical cancer at these centres, which is reflective of women awareness towards their gynecological challenges. She said, this also shows government's commitment to ensure best of the health facilities for people of every walks of the life.</span><br />
