In Rajasthan, the medical and health services in strike-hit hospitals improved further with resident doctors returning to work. A Medical and Health Department Spokesperson said today that nearly 2600 doctors were on duty in hospital across the state. The in-service doctors’ strike, however, continued for eighth day today.Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot again appealed the doctors to resume their duties in view of problems being faced by the patients.The striking doctors criticized the state government’s stand on the strike. They have urged the government to initiate talks on the demands of the in-service doctors instead of suspending or arresting them under Rajasthan Essential Services Maintenance Act, RESMA.
