The West Bengal Health Minister, Dr. Suryakanta Mishra on Wednesday placed the West Bengal Health Regulatory Authority Bill 2009 in the state assembly.<br/><br/>The bill seeks to introduce a 3 year diploma course for health workers in rural areas to serve as practitioners.<br/><br/>The opposition Trinamul Congress, Congress and the SUCI worked out of the house in protest against the bill, as they could not vote against the bill due to fault in the voting machines in the Assembly.<br/><br/>Earlier, the opposition demanded that the bill should be sent to the select committee of the house.
