The Health Ministry today held consultations with States on National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS). <br/><br/>The mega healthcare scheme was announced in the budget to provide health insurance cover of 5 lakh rupees to over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families. In an official release, the Ministry said, all States had shown keenness to join the scheme. <br/><br/>It said, the objective of the consultations was to discuss with the States about the scheme and assess their preparedness. The two-day consultations were attended by more than 200 participants and almost all States and Union Territories participated.<br/>
