Health ministry gets 21% more allocation in budget this year: Nadda

Health Minister J P Nadda has said the Ministry has received 21 percent more allocation in the union budget 2016-17 as compared to previous year. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Nadda said, the total allocation is around 38 thousand crore rupees, which is an increase of over four thousand crore rupees. He said, 90 per cent of the fund has already been utilized in the current financial year. <br/><br/>Mr Nadda said, health Ministry will open around 3,000 medical stores to provide quality medicines at affordable prices across the country and initiate a National Dialysis Services Programme under which it will provide dialysis services in all district hospitals. He also said, the Ministry has decided to launch a new health protection scheme under which a cover of up to one lakh rupees per family will be provided to common people and one lakh 30 thousand for senior citizens, who are 60 years of age.
