Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda has arrived Imphal this afternoon on a two-day Manipur visit. He will attend the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) Special Programme for the eight North-East States tomorrow. All the Health Ministers of the North-East will attend the Programme tomorrow to be held at the City Convention Centre in Imphal.<br/><br/>Mr. Nadda will also visit the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at Lamphelpat in Imphal tomorrow. He will look into the pressing requirements of the Institute under his Ministry as well as the proper utilization of the supports given already by his ministry.<br/><br/>At his arrival at Imphal, he was accorded a warm welcome by BJP, Manipur at its party office at Keishampat in Imphal. Speaking on the occasion, he said, the Centre is giving more emphasis for the development of the North-East which has been ignored for a long time. He said, the NDA Government at the Centre is monitoring how the Central Sponsored Schemes are implemented in the state.<br/><br/>The Union Minister further said, BJP will take the responsibility of transforming the political scenario of Manipur. He also said that India's potential role in international issues including global terrorism has been recognized by the international community in the last one and half year rule of Narendra Modi Government. Veteran CPI leader and former Cabinet Minister of Manipur Ningthoujam Mangi Singh and four Councilors elected in the recent Municipal and Nagar Panchayat elections of the state also joined the Party in presence of Mr. Nadda.
