Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates Chintan Shivir on "Drugs: Quality regulation and Enforcement

The two-day "Chintan Shivir" on "Drugs: Quality regulation and Enforcement" began today at Kanha Shanti Vanam, 40 kilometres from Hyderabad. Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, and Chemicals & Fertilzers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inagurated the Shivur.<br />'' <br />'' The objective of the two-day Chintan Shivir is to review processes and implementation of policies and programmes related to drugs quality and enforcement in the country.<br />'' <br />'' The meeting will also recommend ways and means for facilitating ease of doing business by reviewing predictability, transparency and compliance to Indian drug standards and regulatory capacities across states and centre.<br />'' <br />'' Participants will also discuss global best practices, introduction of newer interventions like digital tools and clinical trial standards and in-turn give an impetus towards creating a multi-stakeholder approach for benefit of common citizens.<br />'' <br />'' Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Bhagwant Khuba, Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers along with Dr. V K Paul, Member (Health) NITI Aayog were also present in the inaugural session of the Shivir.<br />'' <br />'' Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur expressed concern over increasing cases of drug menace in the country. Speaking after attending to a meditation class along with the president of Shree Ramchandra Mission Heartfulness Daaji at its centre in Kottur, 40 kilometres from Hyderabad today.<br />'' <br />'' The minister said the focus should be on fitness for everyone, bring back drug addicts into society and alienate people from drugs. He said the responsibility lies in both the government and society.<br />'' <br />''The minister stated that India has solutions to many such problems through ayurveda and other traditional methods and one such is meditation. He said meditation gives health, happiness and strength. The Minister along with Daaji inagurated International Sports Centre at the Kanha Shanti vanam.
