Union Health Minister J P Nadda has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for urging people to defeat diabetes and eradicate Tuberculosis during Mann ki Baat programme. In a series of tweets, Mr Nadda said, the government is focused on combating Non Communicable Diseases,NCDs including diabetes. He said, the government will soon make available new TB diagnostic test in each district of the country. He said, Bedaquiline medicine recently launched will save more lives of patients suffering from drug resistant TB. Mr Nadda also said his Ministry is supporting research on effect of yoga on diabetes.He said, the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancers, Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) of the Ministry aims at preventing and controlling chronic NCDs. He said, under the programme nearly 6 crore people have been screened for Diabetes and Hypertension.
