Health Minister appeals to organisations, NGOs and people to promote voluntary blood donation

<span style="color: #222222;">Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has appealed to voluntary organisations, NGOs and common people to come forward to promote voluntary blood donation to maintain ample blood stocks to meet any eventuality in the country. Speaking at blood donation camp organised at Indian Red Cross Society  in New Delhi today, he said, it is our duty to meet their requirements at all times and keep the regular flow of fresh blood in blood banks. The Minister asked Red Cross to keep sufficient blood stock for transfusion by promoting voluntary blood donation and providing facilities of pick up and drop to donors.<br />'' <br />''Exhorting the voluntary blood donors, Dr Harsh Vardhan said saving life of others is a service to the mankind. He said a healthy person can donate blood four times in a year till the age of 65. He further asked people to donate blood at least once in a year on their birthday or marriage anniversary to make the occasion special for not only themselves but for the people who need blood also.</span><br />
