Taking a stern decision to control the female foeticide cases, the registration of 17 abortion centers in adjacent Thane district of maharashtra was cancelled by the health department.In order to stop the female foeticide cases the Thane district health department has taken a decision to cancel the registration of 17 abortion centers in adjacent Thane district. In a detailed report submitted to the state government the health department stated that amidst rise of female foeticide cases coming into light in Maharashtra over the last few months the health department had inspected more than 553 abortion centers recently. The report also informed that a total of 174 sonography centers were also inspected and 13 found with irregularities had been sealed.
