Health Department uses IT tools to provide COVID test results to public in Kargil Ladakh

In Kargil Ladakh, the Health Department is using IT tools to provide COVID test results to the public. Hundreds of sample results are now being sent daily on mobiles. AIR Correspondent reports, ever since Zojila axis opened for civilian traffic, there's been tremendous pressure on Kargil health department for sample collection. Within 15 days of the road open, over 16,000 Samples are collected. Earlier, results were given manually at the Chief Medical Officer's office.
''
''This was allowing crowds to gather and defeating the vivid appropriate behaviour. Considering the growing numbers, after Ladakh adopted intense sampling, Kargil health department CMO Dr Munnar Hussain Wazir drew an idea from ATM SMS services and asked his technical team and NIC to devise a program on similar lines.
''
''This is a first of its kind initiative in both UT Ladakh and UT J&K.
