Centre has announced the creation of additional five thousand post-graduate (PG) medical seats in the coming year to ensure availability of specialist doctors. Union Health Minister J P Nadda said, two more All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jharkhand and Gujarat will be established. <br/><br/>He stated that the budget estimates for health, show an appreciable increase of more than 27 per cent. Mr Nadda said that enhanced allocation to health sector in the budget will strengthen activities of the Ministry towards providing universal health care. The Minister also stated that the government has prepared an action plan to eliminate Kala-Azar and Filariasis by this year and Leprosy by next year.
