New Delhi says the role of David Headley a US citizen of Pakistani origin will be investigated thoroughly. Addressing the conference on harnessing business opportunity for the South Asian region, the External Affairs Minister Mr. S.M. Krishna said that the all the matters will be taken at the appropriate level in due course of time. Report say the Centre has evidence that Headley and his Canadian accomplice Tahawwur Hussain Rana were in Pakistan, the day Mumbai carnage took place last year. The investigating agencies are now studying the transcripts of intercepted telephone calls between the Mumbai attackers and their handlers in Pakistan to establish Headley and his accomplice’s links to the terror attack. The Centre has asked all the states to beef up security at nuclear installations across the country following intelligence reports about a possible terror strike. Centre has already made it clear that nuclear installations are safe and secure as multiple levels of security have been put in place.<br/><br/>Mr. Krishna said that he is looking forward to hold meeting with the Pakistani Foreign Minister Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi on 20th of this month ahead of the CHOGAM Summit. He said terrorism will be high on the agenda of talks. Referring to prime Minister’s forthcoming visit to the United States Mr. S.M. Krishna described it as a defining moment in the bilateral relations between India and US.<br/>Talking about the harnessing the business opportunity in the SAARC region Mr. S.M. Krishna said that the terrorism is a great impediment in enhancing the trade relations in the region. He said this was conveyed to the countries in the last Summit. Mr. Krishna said that New Delhi is committed to take the business partnership in the region to newer heights and a draft agreement on services among the SAARC nations is in the final stages of discussions. He expressed confidence that SAARC countries together can overcome the impact of global economic crises sooner.
