Headley court case scheduled for Wednesday

The US Attorney's Office said in a statement that the lawsuit for Pakistan-origin US national David Coleman Headley has been scheduled for Wednesday. Headley has been charged with conspiracy in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The charges, filed in a court in Chicago, also allege that Headley conducted extensive surveillance of targets in Mumbai for more than two years preceding the 26/11 terrorist attacks that killed about 163 people, including 6 Americans. Headley was charged in a 12-count criminal information with six counts of conspiracy to bomb public places in India, murder persons in India and Denmark and provide material support to foreign terrorist plots and Lashkar-e-Toiba. Rests of the six counts include aiding and abetting the murder of US citizens in India. Headley has been in federal custody since his arrest in October this year by the FBI.The FBI has further charged that Headley had misrepresented facts while applying for an Indian visa. He misrepresented his birth name, father's true name and the purpose for his travel. Headley took the help of his school-time friend Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who ran an immigration service in Chicago.
