HC upholds summoning of Vijay Mallya in cheque-bounce cases

The Delhi High Court today upheld the trial court order summoning Vijay Mallya as an accused, in several cheque-bouncing cases filed against him by Delhi airport operator, DIAL. The trial court had summoned Mallya as accused following a complaint by the Company. Mallya's counsel had told the high court that Mr. Mallya cannot be held liable as he was not involved in day-to-day affairs of Kingfisher Airlines. The high court however said that, being in-charge of the company he was "equally liable to be prosecuted".
