HC refuses to stay trial court proceedings against Ramadoss in graft case

The Delhi High Court today refused to grant any interim relief to former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss who sought stay of the proceedings before a trial court in two corruption cases filed against him by the CBI. While declining to pass any interim orders, Justice Suresh Kait issued notice to CBI and sought its reply on Ramadoss' plea which pressed for quashing of the charge sheet and FIR against him as well as the trial court order on framing of charges.<br/><br/>The court has asked the CBI to file the counter affidavit within four weeks, while listing the matter for 3rd February, next year, for further hearing.<br/><br/>The trial court had on 7th October said that prima facie various offences including criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery under the IPC and other provisions of Prevention of<br/>Corruption Act relating to public servant abusing official position were made out against Ramadoss and several others.
