The Allahabad High Court has quashed 156 appointments of Principals of various under graduate and post graduate Colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The High Court Bench comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Sunita Agarwal stated that these appointments made during 2007 and 2008, were illegal. While hearing a bunch of petitions filed against these appointments, the Bench observed that procedures for appointments were grossly violated by Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Commission. The two Judge Bench directed the Commission to take all necessary steps for fresh appointments.
