The Gujarat High Court has ordered that construction at APSEZ project at Mundra be stopped till the project gets environmental clearance. The order of division bench of acting Chief Justice Bhaskar Bhattacharya and Justice J B Pardiwala came upon a Public Interest Litigation, PIL filed by villagers of Navinal and Schiracha in Kutch district. The court yesterday said in the order that the law envisages that no construction, preliminary or otherwise, can be undertaken without environmental clearance.
