In Uttar Pradesh the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday ordered a CBI inquiry into the mysterious death of jailed then deputy chief medical officer Dr. Y S Sachan at Lucknow district jail hospital on 22nd of last month hospital. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that The Court had reserved its judgement in the case on July 12.While hearing a Public Interest Litigation PIL seeking CBI probe into the case a division bench of the court comprising justices Pradeep Kant and Ritu Raj Awasthi passed the order. During hearing of the case the additional advocate general of the state also put up two orders issued by the state government relating to CBI inquiry into Sachan murder case before the bench. The state government had earlier suggested the Court to set up a Special Investigation Team SIT for the probe to be monitored by the bench.The state government had on Wednesday recommended a CBI inquiry into the case. The government's decision came after judicial probe into Sachan's death found it to be prima facie a case of murder, contradicting Uttar Pradesh government's claim that it was a suicide.Arrested on charges of financial irregularities, Dr. Sachan was found dead inside the toilet of Lucknow district jail hospital on the night of June 22. He was also named as the key conspirator in the murder case of CMO Dr. B P Singh in April following the arrest of three shooters hired to kill him. After Sachan's death, the government and police had initially claimed that he committed suicide. The post mortem, however, revealed nine injury marks on the body including the neck, elbows, wrists and thigh.
