The Allahabad High Court has issued notices to the Principal Secretary Urban Development of the State Government and the Director General of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam directing them to appear in the court on 30th of this month.A Division Bench of the court comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Arun Tandon has issued the notices to them while hearing a public interest litigation to make river Ganga pollution free. This order was passed by the Bench, as it was informed to the court that in spite of the repeated orders passed by the court, no action was taken to prevent direct flow of dirty water of tanneries into Ganga.The court was also informed that treatment plants are not working in Kanpur and Unnao.In its report the pollution control board of the state has informed the court that the treatment plant is not in a working condition in the Kanpur and direct dirty water is being released into river Ganga.
