HC disqualifies 5 HJC MLA's from Haryana Assembly membership

Punjab and Haryana High Court has disqualified five Haryana Janhit Congress MLA's who had factioned out and supported Congress to form Government in 2009. AIR Correspondent reports that pronouncing the judgement, Justice K Kannan disqualified all these five MLAs from the membership of Haryana State Assembly.

Also, they will have to refund the remuneration or any financial benefits received from the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, from November 9, 2009. The orders have come in the wake of a petition filed by Haryana Janhit Congress President, Kuldeep Bishnoi.

In 2009 assembly polls, Haryana Janhit Congress had won six seats and out of these, five MLAs Rao Narendera Singh, Zile Ram, Dharam Singh, Satpal Sangwan and Vinod Bhyana shifted their loyalties to Congress and helped Bhupinder Singh Hooda form the Government, leaving Kuldeep Bishnoi alone.
