In Uttar Pradesh the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court has directed the State government and State Election Commission to issue the notification for urban local bodies and mayoral elections in the state within 10 days. The court has also directed chief secretary of the state to submit a compliance report before court on December 19.A division bench of the court comprising Justice DP Singh and Justice SC Chaurasia passed this order yesterday on the reserved judgment on seven writ petitions challenging the appointment of administrators in the urban local bodies.
