The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday directed the National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE, to inspect all self financed BEd and DEd colleges in Haryana and submit the status report in a month.A division bench issued the directions during the resumed hearing of a PIL filed by Haryana Prashikshit Adhyapak Sangh. The petitioner's advocate had brought to the court's notice that there are several colleges in the state that are not following NCTE norms.The High Court had issued a showcause contempt notice to NCTE Regional Director Mr. Ram Kishore for not inspecting such institutions and failing to file a report in the court. However, NCTE Director appeared before the court and told the court that he had meetings from 8 to 10 of this month in this regard.He also informed the court that Inspection Committees have been constituted to find out anomalies and submit reports.
