HC directive for military doctors team to examine Koda, 2 others

Jharkhand High Court on Monday directed to constitute a team of military doctors and examine ailing former Chief minister Madhu Koda and two of his ex-cabinet colleagues, now in judicial custody and undergoing 'treatment' in a government hospital.Acting on a PIL about their nature of ailment, the division bench of justices R K Merathia and D N Upadhyay asked the Inspector General of Police (Prison) to make arrangements to take Koda and ex-ministers Kamlesh Singh and Bhanu Pratap Sahi at the military hospital situated at Namkum cantonment at Ranchi. The next date of hearing is fixed on the second week of January.Koda and former Kamlesh Singh were arrested on November 30, 2009 in connection with corruption charges. Former Health minister Bhanu Pratap Sahi surrendered before a special CBI court in connection with a medicine scam.
