Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the government to file the updated status report on steps taken to ensure maintainence of law and order during ongoing Jat agitation. The court was hearing the two petitions filed by an NGO Anti Corruption Association of India and a Hisar resident Ashwani Bhardwaj seeking directions to the state government to ensure safety of life and property of the citizens during such agitations and to take steps to restrain Jat agitators from indulging in distruction of public property and jamming of rail and road traffic in Hisar and other parts of the state. Meanwhile, in Haryana, the jat agitation has spread in other districts also. After Mayyer and Ramayan villages of Hisar district the jats have started their Dharna at Mehunwala in Fatehabad district yesterday.
