In Uttar Pradesh, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court directed the state government on Monday to file an affidavit in a PIL seeking CBI probe into alleged rape and murder of a teenaged girl in Nighasan police station in Lakhimpur Kheri district. A division bench of the court directed to file it by the 8th of this month. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the government filed today status report of CB-CID, to the court, claiming investigation is going on in impartial way. The investigating agency had arrested one more policeman yesterday in this case, claiming to be prime accused in the case. The government has claimed that arrested policeman has admitted his involvement in the murder of the girl. The girl was found hanging in a mysterious circumstance on June 10th in the police station premises. All major political parties and parents of the victim girl have been demanding CBI probe in the case. Twelve policemen including then district police chief have been suspended in this case.
