HC asks Sir Ganga Ram Hospital panel to reverse earlier decision, allow kidney donation

The Delhi High Court has asked a panel of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to reverse its earlier decision and immediately allow a woman, to donate one of her kidneys to save the life of her critically ill relative. Considering the facts and circumstances, and the urgency of the matter, Justice Vipin Sanghi said, he requires the Authorisation Committee of the hospital to forthwith grant its approval. He said, the formal approval should be granted within two days.
Begum, 58 who has been on dialysis since June 2011, was advised kidney transplant and had found a donor in Israt, the maternal grand daughter of her (Begum's) uncle.
