In Karnataka, the High Court has directed the State Government to begin the process of appointment of Lokayukta in next two days. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice Aravind Kumar directed the Advocate General, S Vijay Shankar to ask the government to begin the process of appointment of Lokayukta from July 25.The post of Lokayukta has remained vacant since September 19 last year after former Supreme Court Judge Shivaraj Patil quit, in the wake of allegations of getting land allotment in violation of Housing Society rules.
