HC asks Centre, UP govt to file reply on issue of New Pension Scheme

The Allahabad High Court has asked the centre and UP government to file their reply on the issue of New Pension Scheme. While hearing the petition filed by a primary school teacher, justice S N Shukla asked the state government and centre to file their reply within six weeks.<br/><br/>Court will hear the case after eight weeks. The petitioner who challenged the validity of contributory new pension scheme claimed that the new pension scheme is against the Article 14 and 21 of constitution .<br/><br/>The petitioner also said that when the member of legislative Assembly and Parliament become eligible for pension immediately after becoming member of the house then why contributory pension scheme system is made for government employees even though they spent many years in the job. <br/><br/>The petitioner prayed to the court for cancellation of new pension scheme and reintroduction of old pension scheme. The Centre has implemented the new pension scheme since 1st January 2004 and UP government has introduced the scheme from April 2005 for their employees.
