The Rajasthan High Court today asked the CBI to speed up investigation in Bhanwari Devi case and gave the investigating agency 10 days to submit its progress report in the matter. The CBI had sought four weeks time to submit its investigation report. Observing that the investigation in the matter was slow, the court asked the agency to expedite the investigation.

Meanwhile, a CD purportedly showing former ministerMahipal Maderna and Nurse Bhanwari Devi, which was shown on a news channel, were sent to the high court registrar by the channel. The court said the CD was received by post and asked the CBI to take it if it would be useful in the investigation. The next hearing in the case will be on the 24th of this month
