The Bombay High Court asked the BCCI if it was willing to shift out some of the IPL?matches scheduled to be held in drought affected Maharashtra. A total of 20 matches, including 9 in Pune; 8 in Mumbai and 3 in Nagpur are scheduled to be held in the state. While Mumbai has already hosted the opener; IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab has agreed to shift its 3 matches from Nagpur to Mohali, if needed.Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India informed the Court that it has tied-up with Royal Western India Turf Club to procure treated sewage water for the IPL matches to be played in Pune and Mumbai. Adjourning the hearing till today, the court has also directed Kings XI Punjab to become a party to the ongoing hearing and confirm its decision on shifting the matches out of Nagpur.The High Court was hearing a PIL filed by NGO Loksatta Movement, challenging the use of large quantities of water in stadiums despite the state being drought-hit.
