H'bad blasts: Toll rises to 16, NIA begins probe with AP Special Police; Shinde says will bring perpetrators to book

The death toll in the Hyderabad twin blasts goes up to 16 while 117 injured are undergoing in various hospitals.The condition of the ten injured remain critical.Two powerful simultaneous blasts had ripped through a crowded area close to a cluster of bus stands in Dilsukhnagar area yesterday.

The Union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Home Secretary R K Singh today visited the blasts site and met the injured in hospitals. They also reviewed the follow up situation.

Talking to reporters after the visit, the Home Minister said that the Government will not leave any stone unturned to bring the perpetrators of this crime to book. He said that the probe has begun and is in the initial stage. He said the real culprits are yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, control rooms have been set up to provide information about the victims. Information can be obtained on phone numbers 040-23235642, 23235643, 23261166, 27852333 and 27852437.

The identification of bodies of the victims is also in progress. So far, nine bodies have been identified and after due procedure, the bodies have been handed over to their family members. Five more bodies were kept in Osmania Government Hospital .

The National Investigating Agency has begun the probe with the help of Andhra Pradesh Special Police. Special Teams have been formed for investigation.

Additional forces have been deployed at all important places in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Sceunderabad and security has also been beefed up at many towns in the state and important pilgrim places.

The state Government has announced an ex-gratia of six lakh rupees and the Centre has announced two lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased. State has announced a compensation of up to one lakh rupees to injured and free treatment.

Andhra Pradesh Government has decided in principle to set up fast track courts to speed up trial of cases relating to terror attacks. In an emergency cabinet held in Hyderabad , the state government has taken a decision to this effect.

Chief Minster has directed officials to expedite the same. The Cabinet has unanimously passed a resolution condemning the twin blasts. The Cabinet also decided to rehabilitate the affected families.
