In Jharkhand, polling has started since 8 this morning for by-poll for Hatia Assembly seat. Polling will continue till 5 in evening. Administration has made elaborate safety and security arrangements for peaceful conduct of the poll. More than four lakhs voters are eligible to cast their votes across 425 polling booths. 29 candidates are in the fray. Our Correspondent reports that except for the JMM, all the National and important local political parties have fielded their candidates. Counting and announcement of result will take place after two days. The bypoll is necessitated following the death of Congress MLA Gopal Sharan Nath Shahdeo in 2010.
