<span style="color: #222222;">On the first of the Winter session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha which commenced in Chandigarh on Friday, obituary resolutions were passed to pay tributes to those prominent personalities who have expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of this session. The silence was also observed to pay respect to the departed souls.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Those who were paid tributes include former Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly Professor Chhattar Singh Chauhan and former Minister of State Dr. Ram Prakash, the Jawans and Army officers from Haryana who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Chief Minister Manohar Lal introduced a proposal in the house regarding having the State Anthem of Haryana reflecting the rich history, heritage and vibrant culture of the state. Three songs chosen by the government were played in the House. He said that the song options have been chosen through an elaborate process from amongst 204 entries submitted by the people of the State in response to public invitation through newspaper advertisements.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The House will decide on one song to be officially declared as the state anthem for the upcoming year initially. While presenting the proposal, the Chief Minister said that Haryana today is recognised as one of the foremost States in Bharat. He said that Haryana has its own emblem but it does not have a State Anthem that represents its history and culture and embodies the virtues and contributions of its people. Chief Minister said that members should share their opinions on December 19, 2023 after reviewing these songs. In addition, if they wish to propose a new draft of a song, they are encouraged to do so.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Three bills were also introduced today. These include the Haryana Settlement of Outstanding Dues (Amendment) Bill, 2023, the Haryana Backward Classes (Reservation in Services and Admission in Educational Institutions) Amendment Act, 2023 and Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023.</span><br />
