Haryana Government has decided to launch a pilot project on mid-day meal programme for all girl students, studying in Class 9 to 12 in government schools. The project will be launched in six districts of the state which include Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Hisar, Rohtak and Rewari. Presently, mid-day meal is provided to around over 20 lakh 56 thousand children studying in nearly 15,000 government primary and middle schools on school days, all over the state. The decision to launch the pilot project is taken at a meeting of the State Level Steering-cum-Monitoring Committee of the Mid-day Meal Programme, held under the chairpersonship of the Haryana Chief Secretary, Mrs Urvashi Gulati, at Chandigarh on Thursday.
