Haryana to increase its forest cover

Haryana is to increase its forest cover by 20 percent. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said five crore saplings will be planted this year. Hooda was addressing the 61st state level Van Mahotsav at Karnal sugar mills.Hooda said presently, Haryana has 6.83 per cent forest cover area which was just two per cent in the year 1966. The state Forests department has been given target to increase the green cover to 10 per cent in next two-three years.
