Haryana Government has ordered prohibition and restriction on manufacture, sale, distribution and use of virgin and recycled plastic carry bags and recycled plastic containers. Disclosing this, the Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, recycling of plastic except carry bags shall be undertaken strictly in accordance with the Bureau of Indian Standards specification. He said that the Plastic Industry Associations, through their member units, shall undertake self-regulatory measures. Penalties would be levied by the prescribed authority for violation of these directions.
