Haryana: State Directorate of School Education issues directives to Deputy Commissioners to make decisions regarding opening or closure of schools

<span style="color: #222222;">In Haryana, the State Directorate of School Education has issued a directive to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts within the National Capital Region (NCR) instructing them to make decisions regarding the opening or closure of schools based on the Air Quality Index (AQI) in their respective districts.<br />''<br />''The spokesperson of the School Education Department said that the authority to determine school closures and reopenings rests solely with the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district. He remarked that it is possible that different decisions may be made for schools in rural and urban areas within the same district. He added, schools will only be closed in areas with high air pollution. The spokesperson said, it has been instructed that in districts where government and private schools are closed due to poor air quality, online classes will be conducted by teachers.</span><br />
