Haryana government has urged the Central Government to sanction additional financil aid of 346.81 crore rupees for the Sirsa and Fatehabad districts of the state to mitigate the problems of flood affected people and repair of damaged infrastructure. With this request now Haryana has sought a total financial aid of 1346.81 crore rupees as per the estimate. The supplementary memorandum seeking additional financial aid has been submitted to the four member high powered inter ministerial central team which is on visit of Haryana to assess the damage in flood affected areas. Haryana Chief Secretary Mrs. Urvashi Gulati said at Chandigarh that the state government had already submitted an interim memorandum to seek financial assistance of one thousand crore rupees but the supplementary memorandum has been submitted as the two more districts of Fatehabad and Sirsa have also been affected by floods and the earlier estimates have been revised. She said that the government officers also briefed it in that the rates of compensation are very low with respect to the damage caused to fields and houses of the people.
