Haryana relaxes stock limit on food grains

Haryana government has decided to relax the stock limit on food grain commodities possessed by wholesalers and retailers. A senior official of Haryana Food and Civil Supplies Department said in Chandigarh today that with relaxation in stock limit, traders including retailers and wholesalers will now be able to maintain larger stock of commodities. He said the decision has been taken in view of fresh crop arrivals and rising demand from the state trading community.<br/><br/>He said that department has proposed to raise wheat stocks for dealers including wholesalers, retailers from 1,000 quintals to 2,500 quintals while stock limit for roller flourmills has been kept unchanged. In case of rice department proposed to raise stock limit for wholesalers from 1,000 quintals to 2,000 quintals and for retailers, the limit will be 100 quintals instead of 50 quintals.<br/><br/>The department has also recommended raising stock limit substantially for pulses and edible oils.
