Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh is on high alert in view of the verdict to be pronounced by the Panchkula CBI court tomorrow, in a sexual exploitation case against Sirsa Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. <br/><br/>Heavy security force have been deployed in sensitive areas of Punjab and Haryana. <br/><br/>The prohibitory orders have been issued under section 144 to restrict the movement of Dera followers as well as to keep the situation in control if verdict comes against Dera chief.Punjab government offices in Chandigarh and Haryan government offices in Panchkula will remain closed tomorrow as notified by the government of both states.<br/><br/>The schools, colleges and universities have also been closed in both states and Chandigarh.<br/><br/>A day ahead of expected verdict, Punjab and Haryana High Court today asked Haryana government to ensure security in the state and make arrangement to send back the Dera followers gathered at Panchkula. <br/><br/>The bench of Justice S S Srow, Justice Suryakant and Justice Avneet Jhingan, while hearing a Public Interest Litigation also asked Dera Sacha Sauda to appeal to its supporters to leave Panchkula. <br/><br/>The court was not satisfied with security arrangements and questioned how Dera followers reached Panchkula when section 144 was imposed. <br/><br/>The counsel for the Dera ensured the high court that peace would not be disturbed. The High court also asked the centre to ensure the required number of companies of paramilitary force reach by night.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, around 130 companies of paramilitary forces have reached in Punjab and Haryana and 37 more companies are about to reach.In Punjab only 87 companies have been deployed in the sensitive district, while 10 more companies are expected to reach. The Police force is also keeping vigil. <br/><br/>The movement of Pepsu Roadways Transport buses from Punjab to Haryana has been suspended. <br/><br/>Haryana has also suspended movement of buses between Delhi and Chandigarh. However Volvo buses from Chandigarh will continue to move. <br/><br/>The northern railway has also suspended movement of around 30 trains including Ambala-Nangal Dam, Bathinda- Ambala passenger, Bhiwani-Kalka Himalyan queen, Ambala-Kalka and Barner-Haridwar express. <br/><br/>Mobile internet services have also been suspended for 72 hours in both the states and their joint capital Chandigarh. The senior officers of police are keeping close eye on social media to check the rumours.<br/><br/>Meanwhile Ram Rahim Singh has said that he would appear in person before the special CBI court tomorrow and appealed to his followers to maintain peace.

Terming the situation dynamic, Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Ram Niwas said that the State has got eight additional companies of paramilitary forces and an additional 2,500 police personnel from internal sources have also been mobilised for deployment in different parts of the state. <br/><br/>He said, the state government will also call in the Army, if necessary, impose curfew according to time and circumstances and initiate all steps required to maintain law and order in the State. He has appealed to Dera followers to cooperate with government to keep peace and harmony in the state.<br/><br/>Paramilitary forces including Rapid Action Force, CRPF etc are staging flag march in various sensitive places of districts of Haryana and Punjab along with local police.<br/><br/>All schools, colleges and Universities in Chandigarh and Panchkula districts of Haryana will remain closed today and tomorrow as precautionary measures. <br/><br/>The work has been suspended in Panchkula court till tomorrow, when the verdict on Sirsa Dera Chief Baba Ram Rahim Singh in Sadhvi sexual exploitation case is to be pronounced. A complete ban has been issued on carrying of firearms, with orders to shut down the private gun houses selling arms and ammunition to license holders, till the situation normalises.<br/><br/>Chief Minister has also ordered withdrawal of 1000 police personnel from VVIP security for deployment on field duty to strengthen the security blanket in the state, an official spokesperson said after a meeting convened by the Chief Minister to review the state's security arrangements with the police top brass ahead of the judgement, which was attended, among others, by DGP Suresh Arora, DGP Intelligence Dinkar Gupta and DGP Law & Order HS Dhillon.<br/><br/>The Centre has sanctioned an additional 10 companies of paramilitary forces to maintain law and order in the state. A total of 85 central companies along with thousands of policemen on the ground will maintain a tight vigil, especially in the vulnerable areas of Moga, Bathinda, Sangrur, Barnala, Patiala and Ludhiana, said the spokesperson.<br/><br/>Amid intelligence reports of followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, of which Ram Rahim is the chief, stocking petrol and arms at the Dera's Naam Charcha Ghars, the Chief Minister has directed the police to crack down on elements trying to disrupt Punjab's peace and tranquility.<br/><br/>The police have seized five walkie-talkies from suspected Dera followers and are moving to identify the various locations suspected to be housing dangerous weapons of any kind. A close watch is being maintained at all such places and the police are ready to move in at the slightest sign of trouble, said the spokesperson.<br/><br/>Punjab Chief Minister has meanwhile once again appealed to the people to maintain peace at all costs and not to get provoked by elements trying to disrupt the state's law and order.
