The Haryana Police has come up&nbsp; with&nbsp; &quot;COVID-19 Hospital Transport Service&quot; (COV-HOTS) for free transportation of needy infected patients from their homes to hospitals or nursing homes and back. The service is free and exclusively meant for&nbsp;COVID&nbsp;patients.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Manoj Yadava said that a total of 440 vehicles are being provided for this service and every police district would get 20 SUVs for this purpose.<br />''&quot;These vehicles are being provided after the instances of either shortage of ambulances or overcharging by private ambulance service providers came to the notice of the police&quot;, DGP said.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''He said, 126 COV-HOTS vehicles have already been provided to all the districts across the state and 70 SUVs would reach the districts today. The remaining 244 would be delivered by Sunday evening, he added.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The DGP said that the persons in need can dial 108 or the police control room number of the district to which they belong.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He said, to ensure that the police personnel driving these vehicles are not exposed to any infection, they would wear masks, gloves and PPE kits while on duty.</span><br />
