Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia has given his assent to Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Bill.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that a separate committee for the management of Sikh religious places and their properties in the state can be set up under the new law now.

Mr Hooda said, the management committee comprising 40 members will be elected for a five-year term by Sikh voters of Haryana. He said, it will have its head office at Kurukshetra and regional offices at Panchkula and Jind.
